I've always been interested in finances. My mother was a bookkeeper and I've run a small bookkeeeping business for over 20 years. I spent many years in the software industry, almost all of it working with financial companies. Several years ago, my wife came to me and said she felt we needed to get on the same page with our finances. For years, she focused on the kids, while I paid the bills for our family of six. Suddenly, we found ourselves less than 20 years from retirement with too much debt and not enough savings. So we buckled down, educated ourselves about debt, and began seriously planning for retirement. Along the way, we found ourselves having conversations on how we got to where we were and how to keep from going back. In the last six years, we’ve paid off two cars, built an emergency fund, substantially increased the amount we’re saving retirement, paid off thousands of dollars in mortgage debt – ahead of schedule! – and been able to cash flow our youngest kids college tuition each semester rather than seeing them saddled with debt. We’re now on the same page financially and tracking towards our goals for retirement. We have options we didn't have before and our marriage is much improved. Over time, I figured out that in my software career and bookkeeping business, what I really enjoyed was the creativity of helping people solve problems. Marrying finance and problem solving resulted in Money Coach Jim. I know I can help you or your business to get away from bad debt, build wealth, build a better life, and have the retirement of your dreams. Reach out to me to schedule a free 15 minute consultation.
